A Lifelong Love of Pretty Handbags!

Posted by Scot Categories: Bag Half Full No comments yet.

I saw my first BEIJO (a lipstick red backpack)at a tradeshow in Denver. One of my customers was carrying the bag & it just drew me in! I went on line, did a little research, reached out to BEIJO about selling & honestly did nothing! That was summer 2007. As time went on, I would periodically see a BEIJO… in an airport, in another city & even at a Chicago White Sox’s game! I’m not saying the bags were everywhere but … BEIJO is total arm candy so you tend to notice them! The last “straw” was being out with my husband in the February of 2008 & I again noticed someone carrying a bag. I pointed it out to him and he replied “enough already about the purses, would you just sell them?” So, I re-contacted the company, filed paperwork with the State of Indiana, opened a business account at my bank, ordered some purses & off I went! I was now an Independent BEIJO Fashion Consultant – & I had never owned a BEIJO, never attended a Beijo Shopping Party, couldn’t even pronounce the company name correctly & most of my friends had not even heard of the brand!

Now realize, I am not a “foo-foo” kind of a gal – nor was I a tomboy growing up. I can certainly put a little black dress on & knock ‘em dead & in the same 24-hour span that I can be at a football game decked out in yoga pants, sneakers & a hoodie. I pride myself on the fact that I am a fairly practical gal – I know how to shop for a good value.

So again, why do I sell BEIJO & what made me start? Simple answer the sassy bags & stunning colors is what drew me in & what keep me going! I have always been the sort of a gal who dressed up an outfit with a fun or colorful purse – I was never one for a black purse. I believe this habit was formed at a very early age. Selling BEIJO allows me to do something fun, connect with personable women & make money at the same time!

Gratitude, Faith and a Vision, Sealed With a Beijo

Posted by Scot Categories: Bag Half Full No comments yet.

My life will forever be inexplicably changed because of a Pinky Promise handbag by Susan Handley™, a very chance meeting, and a desire to make a difference. I hope my story inspires you to do the same.

My daughter and I decided to attend a horse show not far from our home in May of 2009. We were walking through the adjoining craft fair when I saw this amazing fuchsia bag with the tell-tale pink ribbon, and I fell in love. I had to have that bag. My gut told me not for me, but for something bigger than me. I had a vision, but didn’t know where or if it might lead me. So began my love affair with Beijo and it began with the Pinky Promise bag.

I contacted Beijo immediately to learn more and thought maybe I could sell these bags. I loved them and I wanted to own every style, so I decided to become a representative. I will never regret that decision. I even had the opportunity to meet Beijo’s founder, Susan Handley, in person! I cannot express in words how touched I was when Susan hugged me and welcomed me, especially after finding out that she had designed the Pinky Promise handbag for her own mother.

After receiving my first order of bags, I happened to see a childhood friend featured in a nationally advertised beauty magazine as a breast cancer survivor. She was promoting the magazine’s annual walk in order to find a cure and inspiring others to walk with her. I was awestruck. Then it came to me; get Jody that bag.

Jody and I met after 20 plus years apart in October 2009, at the Care 4 Breast Cancer Walk in Woodstock, Illinois. She brought her beautiful daughter and we walked together for the cause. After that, I ordered more Pinky Promise bags and gave them to any organization, survivor, or friend that dedicated themselves to battle this horrible disease. In doing so, I met some of the most inspiring people whom I have ever known…..

I am eternally grateful to Susan Handley. Her vision gives hope.

Raising Kids and Having the Time of My Life

Posted by Scot Categories: Bag Half Full No comments yet.
I am having the time of my life. When I first started with Beijo, I had three young boys and, as most of us do, I had lost myself… my identity. Prior to finding Beijo, I started wondering “What do I even like? Who am I? I knew I was a mom and a wife but there was more to me… and I needed more! Beijo gave me just that – the more that I needed in my life. My husband now has me back: the woman he married, and I have given my kids a mom to be proud of. I have skills I never knew I had, and the drive to succeed. I have developed life-long friendships. That is why I am having the time of my life! And, I haven’t even mentioned the newfound financial freedom I had only dreamed of!

Beijo Made My Children’s Adoption Possible

Posted by Scot Categories: Bag Half Full No comments yet.

I am a nail technician in a beauty salon. In 2007 one of my best friends and great customer, Tami B, an Independent Beijo Regional Sales Director, invited me to host an all day Beijo Shopping Spree at my place of work. Tami explained that I could earn free merchandise! I didn’t think twice. I thought I’d be crazy not to do this. And, I effortlessly sold 20 plus bags! I got so excited about selling, that I called Tami screaming, “I want another party!” I had also earned free Beijo bags I could not have afforded otherwise. When Tami suggested that I begin to sell the bags… I thought what the heck, I’ll give it a try.

In the next year, I started out just trying to make extra money with no real goal, until I started considering the idea of adopting children. It had been my idea and dream to adopt since I was unable to have my own children thus far.

After months of investigating adoption costs, as well as interviewing agencies, I realized this was going to take some serious money. Beijo was a way for me to earn that extra income, allowing me to begin to seek in earnest, children for adoption. I wanted to bring some children to our great country of freedom. I felt as though I wanted to give the American dream to someone who had been unfortunate in life. After much agonizing and searching, I finally decided on two orphaned sisters from the Philippines.

Nympha and Yayang had been abandoned in a shopping mall at the ages of 3 and 5. They were 8 and 10 when I first learned of them.

I began stocking up on bags by the barn full and having as many purse parties as possible. Much to my surprise, even though people bought a bag in April they still wanted to buy again in July.

As it turns out, Beijo did help bring our girls home. Even though it was only my first year, sales were high… in the thousands of dollars.

Thank you Beijo for the fabulous opportunity to have fun and money and changing lives for the better. God bless America.
